Please note KFC uses pressure fryers to fry their chicken, however you can use a regular deep fryer or even a pan of oil.
|3 Pound Container of Lard Or Crisco|
|1 Cup Buttermilk|
|1 Chicken Cut In To 6 Pieces|
|1 Cup White All Purpose Flour|
|1 Tsp Garlic Power (Not Garlic Salt)|
|1Tbsp Onion Salt|
|2 Tbsp Paprika|
|1 Tsp Pepper|
|1 Tsp Dry Majorum|
|1 Tsp Dry Basil|
|1 Tsp Dry Sage|
|1 Tsp Dry Oregano|
|1 Tsp Chili Powder|
In a large bowl, stir together the egg and buttermilk. Place the chicken in the mixture.
In a separate bowl pour in the flour and all herbs and spices. Place the chicken in the flour mixture and coat completely.
Place the lard in your fryer, heat to 365 degrees Fahrenheit.
Safely use the proper utensils to carefully lower the chicken in the fryer and fry for 8-10 minutes. You want the chicken to attain a nice golden brown color before removing.
Follow the fryers instructions to carefully remove it and place the chicken on paper towels.
